Biography

Christopher, born September 1982, was raised in Buxton, a picturesque spa town at the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District.  Growing up in a town where the annual music and fringe festivals are second only to Edinburgh, it is easy to see how he fell into music.

By the age of ten Christopher had already achieved highly in his first classical guitar examination and had appeared on the stage of the Buxton Opera House (below) in the festival production of Donizetti's 'Maria Stuarda'.  This was an opera of particular fascination for most Buxtonians as its main subject, Mary Queen of Scots, was held in 1573 as a house prisoner by Queen Elizabeth I in what is today the town's Old Hall Hotel.

Christopher continued to achieve highly on his instrument and before studying music at North Trafford College, came top of his GCSE music class at school.  At the age of eighteen he passed his Grade Eight classical guitar examination and began to read Music and Popular Music at the University of Wolverhampton.  Always the performer, he chose performance pathways at university (above) and continued his study of the guitar under the professional eye of world renowned classical guitarist, Simon Dinnigan.

After gaining an honours degree, Christopher returned to the North West where he studied for a post graduate certificate in education at Manchester Metropolitan University.  Now, as a fully qualified teacher, Christopher is teaching music to pupils aged between eleven and eighteen in Lancashire.
